Conservation by Re-use
Helping churches acquire surplus and/or redundant bells to be hung for
English-style full-circle bell-ringing.
The largest single donation to date made by the Keltek Trust is eight bells for the proposed ring of eight to be installed in a purpose built structure next to the Transitional Cathedral.
The Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant Committee have donated the Royal Jubilee Bell Tower to the project. At this time the design of the structure is at the preliminary stage and requires Planning approval. Once finalised the Royal Jubilee Bell tower metalwork will be adapted accordingly.
It is hoped the structure will be completed and bells ringing towards the end of 2018 which will be the 40th anniversary of the installation of the ring of bells in the original Cathedral building. Current plans indicate it will be 10 years before bells will ring out again at the original Cathedral.
