Kelham, Nottinghamshire, St Wilfrid

The unringable ring of three bells was restored and a redundant bell added during the last quarter of 2015 and January 2016. It is now planned to add two trebles to complete the ring of six subject to fund-raising and faculty. The Trust has offered to donate a bell previously installed in the redundant church of St Simon & St Jude, Bolton, Greater Manchester as the treble of six. The photograph above right shows the bell in storage at Taylor’s Bellfoundry, Loughborough. A bell ex-Taynton, Oxfordshire has been acquired as the 2nd of six. It will be a while before the bell is installed as an appeal is underway to repair the church roof.
