Conservation by Re-use
Helping churches acquire surplus and/or redundant bells to be hung for
English-style full-circle bell-ringing.
Moseley, West Midlands,
The existing ring of steel bells has been replaced with a bronze ring incorporating three tenor bells from the redundant St George’s North church, Greenock. This formed the basis of a ring of ten bells with a tenor weight of 18-0-9.
The photographs below were taken on 30th September 2012 at Taylor’s Bellfoundry and show the ring of ten bells prior to installation. The three ex-Greenock bells are the three largest bells to the RHS of the pictures.
The installation work was completed during October 2012.
