Conservation by Re-use
Helping churches acquire surplus and/or redundant bells to be hung for
English-style full-circle bell-ringing.
St John the Baptist
Listed Planning Consent has been granted to add two treble bells to the ring of six at Strensham. The church is vested with the Churches Conservation Trust and the CCT have given their approval for the project.
The church is used as a Ringing Centre for the training and recruitment of bellringers in the local area. The funds for the work will be raised by the local area ringers and to encourage the project the Keltek Trust has offered to donate the treble bell.
The two “new” bells were formally the trebles of the pre-2005 ring at Kettering, Northamptonshire.
